Honda Vietnam said on November 25 that the Africa Twin off-road motorcycle model needs to be recalled because the front wheel lift control feature is not working properly, causing the vehicle to lose balance.

To fix this, the vehicle will need to have its firmware updated. This will take about 15 minutes per vehicle.

Honda Vietnam is selling two versions of the Honda Africa Twin in Vietnam, with the standard version priced at 640.1 million VND and the Adventure Sports version priced at 720.1 million VND.

The vehicle is equipped with a 1,084 cc engine with 2 liquid-cooled cylinders combined with a 6-speed manual transmission, giving a maximum capacity of 100 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and maximum torque of 112 Nm at 5,500 rpm.

On the same day, according to information from the Vietnam Register, the Honda Gold Wing GL1800 model also needs to be recalled under the global program code 3P5.

These vehicles were manufactured from 2018 to 2021 at the Honda factory in Tokyo (Japan) and imported and distributed by Honda Vietnam in the domestic market.

These Gold Wings may experience an engine stall while in motion and not restart. In the worst case, the rear wheel may lock up.

The cause of the error is due to the design of the gear tightening bolt. During operation, this part can be broken, leading to the ignition signal being lost or different. The engine will stop working when the ignition signal is lost.

To fix this, Honda Vietnam will replace the bolts with new ones with appropriate specifications. The repair time for each vehicle is more than 5 hours. The recall program ends on November 25, 2026.

In addition, Honda Vietnam is currently recalling another large displacement motorcycle, the CB350 H'ness, due to a speed sensor problem that could affect vehicle control.

All 580 CB350 H'ness vehicles that need to be repaired are imported from India, manufactured from 2021 to 2024. The vehicle's speed sensor will need to be replaced, which will take more than 1 hour.

All recall programs are carried out at Honda dealers nationwide.
