The organizing committee received 1,394 propaganda posters from 728 authors.
On the afternoon of November 8, in Hanoi, the Propaganda Department, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (Ministry of National Defense) summarized and awarded prizes for the propaganda painting contest to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day. After 9 months of launching and implementing, the Organizing Committee received the participation of 728 authors with 1,394 propaganda paintings. The forms and writing styles of the works are diverse, the content of the works is rich; the focus and requirements of the campaign are correctly identified; many works are of good quality, invested carefully and seriously in both ideological content and form of expression, conveying profound messages, creating strong impressions.
The propaganda paintings focused on highlighting the theme of the Armed Forces and revolutionary war, vividly depicting the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers; widely propagating and promoting to compatriots and soldiers nationwide the spirit of military-civilian solidarity, the glorious tradition of 80 years of building, fighting and growing of the Vietnam Army; widely spreading the contributions and achievements of the armed forces and people nationwide in the current cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Through 8 rounds of judging (2 preliminary rounds, 6 official rounds), the Evaluation Council selected 150 works by 80 authors with the best quality to publish a propaganda picture book to serve propaganda work; at the same time, 80 works were selected to be displayed at the Exhibition of 80 years of literature and art of the Vietnam People's Army at Hoan Kiem Lake walking street from December 20 to 22, 2024.
At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded the A prize to the work “The heroic Vietnam People’s Army of the heroic Vietnamese people” by author Nguyen Cong Quang (Hanoi); 2 B prizes: “The army and the people have one will” by author Nguyen Tuan Long, Department of Propaganda, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army and “Peace for the sea and islands of the homeland” by author Nguyen Hien Luong (Hanoi).
Awarding 3 C prizes: "The Hung Kings had the merit of building the country, we, your uncles and nephews, must work together to protect the country" by author Nguyen Cong Quang (Hanoi), "Building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern People's Army" by author Bach Thi Loi (Vinh Phuc) and "Protecting the Fatherland early, from afar, protecting the country when it is not yet in danger" by author Nguyen Phuong Giang (Hanoi); awarding 9 consolation prizes to other works and authors.
