Hai Duong City People's Committee proposed that the Provincial People's Committee consider extending the pilot project of Bach Dang walking street and night market for another year from November 1, 2023 after 6 months of operation.
Hai Duong City proposed the province to allow the expansion of the scale and boundaries of the street, using the entire Bach Dang Street from Bui Thi Xuan Street to Hong Quang Bridge, Bui Thi Xuan Street from Bach Dang Street to the Provincial Sports and Gymnasium, and using Nguyen Hai Thanh Street to invest in and build a culinary street. The province continues to support the city in calling for socialized investment in installing a water music system on the Sat River, renovating Thong Nhat Square and placing a monument...
The city also proposed organizing fairs and exhibitions in Thong Nhat Square and Ton Duc Thang Street in conjunction with the operating hours of the walking street and night market to attract people and promote trade.
In operation since April 28, 2023, Bach Dang walking street and night market have created a cultural, commercial and culinary space that attracts a large number of people and tourists on weekends. On average, the street attracts 5,000-7,000 visitors per week to visit and experience, and the number of visitors doubles during holidays.
The street is currently maintaining 4 cultural and artistic activity points organized by Hai Duong Youth Union and the City Culture, Sports and Information Center. The number of business booths on the street has increased from 40 to 100, creating stable income for organizations and individuals registered to do business here.
