Expressing condolences to General Nguyen Quyet, General Secretary To Lam wrote in the condolence book: “The Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam respectfully pays tribute to General Nguyen Quyet, a staunch communist who participated in leading the Vietnamese revolution, a talented general of the People's Army, and an outstanding son of his homeland Hung Yen.

His revolutionary life began very early, in the very difficult days of the country, but he was enlightened very early, correctly perceived the revolutionary path of the Party, and participated in leading the revolution and the army to victory after victory, bringing glory to the country and homeland.

His life is a shining example for cadres, Party members, armed forces and youth to learn and follow. We will continue to promote the achievements of the revolution and firmly defend the Fatherland and successfully build socialism in our country."

The delegation of the State Presidency led by President Luong Cuong paid their respects. Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, leaders and officials of the Office of the President joined the delegation.

Writing in the condolence book, President Luong Cuong wrote: “Deeply mourning comrade General Nguyen Quyet, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Vice Chairman of the State Council, former Standing Member of the Central Military Party Committee (now the Central Military Commission), former Director of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, former Deputy Minister of National Defense - a talented, virtuous, and extremely loyal general, but also very simple and close to our Party and our Army.

At 102 years old, 85 years in the Party, and more than 65 years of revolutionary activities, General Nguyen Quyet has devoted his entire life to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. Assigned to hold many important leadership positions in the cause of national liberation as well as the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, he has always excellently fulfilled all tasks assigned by the Party, State, Army and People.

In each revolutionary period, he left a strong impression, typically as: the decisive, courageous, and creative Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee in the August Revolution; the steadfast and heroic commander of Inter-Zone 5 in the resistance war against the French; the Commander of Military Zone 3 who "got rich and won" in the resistance war against the US; a military man and politician with correct decisions that won the hearts of the people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Farewell comrade with infinite sorrow, I would like to send my deepest condolences to all of your family.

The Government delegation led by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh paid a visit. The delegation included Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, heads of sectors, and leaders of ministries and sectors.
