Martyr Nguyen Van Thuong from Nghia An commune, Ninh Giang district (Hai Duong) sacrificed in 1986 in Cambodia. Due to lost information, he was only recently brought back to his hometown for burial.
On September 14, the authorities of Nghia An commune, Ninh Giang (Hai Duong) and the family held a memorial service and buried the remains of martyr Nguyen Van Thuong.
Martyr Nguyen Van Thuong was born in 1964 in Nghia An commune. In February 1983, he enlisted in the army, assigned to Company 2, Battalion 25, Division 309, participating in the fight to protect the Fatherland and performing international duties to help Cambodia. On September 10, 1986, he sacrificed his life in Cambodia. His remains were later gathered at the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs Cemetery.
At the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs' Cemetery, information about martyr Nguyen Van Thuong does not have a specific location, only the province, so for many years, the family has not been able to find him. The Association for Supporting Families of Vietnamese Martyrs in Hai Duong province has checked the list of martyrs at cemeteries posted on the Information Portal of the Policy Department (General Department of Politics, Ministry of National Defense), matched it with information about combat units and the list of martyrs in the locality, and discovered a match with the grave of martyr Thuong. After that, the association reported to the locality and the family.
