On the morning of August 16, Hai Duong province held a ceremony to collect DNA from relatives of unidentified martyrs.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung assessed that this activity demonstrates the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" and "Repaying gratitude" of the nation. This is also the best preparation for the search and identification of heroic martyrs; creating more opportunities for the martyrs' relatives to find them.
After this conference, the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee will organize an assessment to draw lessons from experience, from which they will direct the implementation of propaganda to 100% of families and relatives of martyrs whose identities have not been determined; survey and make a list of relatives with blood relationships to take DNA samples in accordance with the direction and guidance of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to preside over and coordinate the review and statistics of the list of information on the remains of martyrs whose identities have not been determined and the families of martyrs whose remains have not been determined to be able to collect samples for comparison.
Units coordinate to review the current status of martyrs' remains, including: Cases that are being collected; cases that have not been collected to martyrs' cemeteries but will have a collection plan; receive information that has been compared and, together with information and documents under management, determine the identities of unidentified martyrs to notify the martyrs' families.
The provincial police coordinated with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to review and verify personal information of martyrs' families and collect, update, and adjust if missing or incorrect; update the National Population Database system under the category of "martyrs' relatives" to ensure that the data is "correct, sufficient, clean, and alive"...
The Provincial Military Command coordinated to review the current status of remains, provide information on martyrs to serve the work of collecting information and DNA identification of relatives of unidentified martyrs in the area.
The District People's Committee presides over and directs the effective implementation of propaganda work and actively participates in assigned tasks.
After the launching ceremony, the Provincial Police Department coordinated with the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (Ministry of Public Security) and Genstory Laboratory to collect DNA samples from 27 relatives of unidentified martyrs. The Organizing Committee presented gifts to the families of martyrs who attended the ceremony.
