Striker Nguyen Tien Linh shined in Binh Duong's 3-0 victory over Ho Chi Minh City in round 4 of LPBank V.League 2024-2025 on the evening of October 4.

Tien Linh shined with the goal to raise the score to 2-0 for Binh Duong. This is also Tien Linh's 70th goal for the team in Thu Dau Mot.

Entering this match, Binh Duong suffered a regrettable loss against Hanoi Police. However, they quickly regained their form and showed impressive performance against Ho Chi Minh City.

Tien Linh, Abdurakhmanov and Wellington were the players who shone to help Binh Duong win convincingly. In particular, striker Tien Linh continued to impress with a goal in this match, bringing his total number of goals to 4 after 4 rounds, and at the same time taking the top spot in the list of top scorers.

Right from the first minutes of the match, both teams chose to play quite openly and did not hide their goal of aiming for 3 full points in round 4 before entering the FIFA Days. Right in the 11th minute, the home team scored the opening goal. From a free kick situation, Abdurakhmanov had the ball in a favorable position before unleashing a powerful shot from outside the penalty area to defeat goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang.

Conceding a goal, the away team players were forced to push up their attacks in search of an equalizer. Despite creating many opportunities to level the score, the Ho Chi Minh City strikers were unable to take advantage of the opportunities.

In the 62nd minute, receiving a pass from his teammate, Tien Linh turned and shot over goalkeeper Le Giang, raising the score to 2-0 for Binh Duong.

In the 78th minute, Binh Duong was awarded a penalty. Tien Linh - who had previously increased the score - seemed to be going to take it as assigned. But the striker from Hai Duong held the ball and passed it to Wellington Nem, signaling for his foreign teammate to take the kick. The Brazilian player took advantage of the opportunity, beating goalkeeper Patrick Le Giang with a powerful shot into the middle of the goal, sealing a 3-0 victory for Binh Duong. This was also Nem's first goal since coming to Vietnam to play football this summer.

After the match, Tien Linh said:"In recent matches, Nem has shown his desire. But he has just arrived at Binh Duong so he needs more time to adapt. Therefore, I let him take the penalty kick so that he can have the opportunity to score and play more confidently. Hopefully after this goal, Nem will contribute more in Binh Duong's matches."

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan praised Tien Linh's professionalism in deciding to concede the penalty. "In such a situation, Tien Linh understood what to do. He thinks differently from the majority, and is very professional," said Mr. Tuan, adding that Tien Linh is one of the few Vietnamese players who are maintaining high performance, playing a very important role both in Binh Duong and the national team.

He also expressed sympathy for the slow integration of new players like Nem, because they have just arrived and are facing a different playing style and environment in Binh Duong and Vietnamese football. The coach from Khanh Hoa added: "Many foreign players think that playing football in Vietnam is easy, but in reality it is not like that. I always remind them that they need time to understand Vietnamese football more, then they can play better with each match."

After round four, the V-League will take a break so that the Vietnamese team can gather for FIFA Days. Tien Linh and his teammates will meet India in a friendly match at Thien Truong Stadium.
