The highest Lunar New Year bonus in Hanoi belongs to a foreign-invested enterprise (FDI) with 311 million VND, 106 million VND more than last year's Tet.
The Hanoi Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has just reported on the 2024 salary situation and the 2025 Lunar New Year and Lunar New Year bonus plans of businesses in the area.
It is expected that the average bonus for employees during the New Year and Lunar New Year 2025 will increase more evenly than in 2024 in all types of enterprises.
Specifically, at a single-member LLC with 100% state capital, the highest bonus for the Lunar New Year of the Snake is 38 million VND (nearly double last year); the lowest is 500,000 VND/person (same as last year). At a joint stock company with state-controlled capital, the highest bonus is 30 million VND, the lowest is 500,000 VND/person (same as last year).
In the private enterprise sector, the highest bonus is 280 million (3 times higher than last year), the lowest is 500,000 VND/person.
For FDI enterprises, the highest bonus is 311 million, the lowest is 500,000 VND/person. For Tet Giap Thin 2024, the highest bonus is 205 million, the lowest is 500,000 VND.
The Department of Labor Relations and Wages (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs) said it is still compiling reports from localities on the 2024 salary situation and 2025 Tet bonuses. However, statistics from many provinces and cities show that the average Lunar New Year bonus this year is 5-7% higher than last year. The highest bonus of 500-700 million VND is for outstanding individuals, leaders and managers, but is not common.
The average Tet bonus nationwide is higher than last year due to the recovery of orders and many localities attracting FDI to expand production such as Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, and Da Nang.
In addition to the Tet bonus, the average salary level of workers this year in many places is slightly higher than in 2023 due to the adjustment of the regional minimum wage. The average income of salaried workers is 8.5 million VND.
Article 104 of the Labor Code stipulates that bonuses are money, assets or other forms that employers reward employees based on production and business results and work completion levels. Bonus regulations are decided by business owners and made public at the workplace after consulting with the labor representative organization at the facility.
