Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called for the movement 'The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation' to take place quickly and boldly.
"Faster and bolder, like the historic April days 50 years ago," the Prime Minister emphasized at the launching ceremony on the morning of April 24 in Hanoi. According to him, the important thing is that the movement must be substantial, so that people can enjoy the results, only then will the Party and State's policies be truly effective. The Prime Minister's call received a response from thousands of students present in the hall.
Referring to the Digital Education Program launched in March, the Prime Minister said that these two movements have different characteristics, but both aim to implement Resolution 57 of the Politburo. This is a document of special importance, a call to bring the country into an era of prosperity.
According to the Prime Minister, in today's world, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are not only objective requirements and inevitable trends, but also the way for Vietnam to overcome difficulties and challenges, bringing the country on par with the great powers.
Besides the achievements, Vietnam still has some limitations, requiring drastic actions to overcome challenges. "It is necessary to point out the things that have not been done in an objective, specific and clear manner," said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister said that AI is developing at a very high speed, but "we cannot lose to artificial intelligence". The second thing the Prime Minister emphasized is that "science and technology, innovation and digital transformation have no limits, no borders, no gender, no age and no religion".
In that context, the movement "The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation" and the movement "Digital Education for All" are of great significance. The Prime Minister requested that by 2030, Vietnam must become a country with advanced potential, technology and innovation, and be among the leading countries in the upper middle-income group.
"The goal is for the digital economy to account for 30% of GDP, the rate of online public service usage to reach over 80%, and Vietnam to possess modern digital infrastructure, super large capacity, super wide bandwidth, on par with advanced countries," the Prime Minister assigned.
At the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong assessed that innovation and digital transformation are breakthrough driving forces to help improve productivity, efficiency and competitiveness of the economy, opening up opportunities for rapid and sustainable development.
He said the city will prioritize investment in broadband networks, data centers, digital platforms, digital skills training for officials and people, and attracting IT and AI talents. "The innovation ecosystem and leadership and management are two important factors to ensure sustainable and effective development of innovation and digital transformation," he said.
Representing young scientists, Dr. Chu Duc Ha, lecturer at Hanoi National University, hopes that science, technology, innovation and digital transformation will truly create meaningful changes, serving the social community. Dr. Ha proposed that the Prime Minister and leaders at all levels "trust and boldly assign tasks and order big problems to young scientists".
"With professional knowledge, the spirit of daring to think, speak, do and take responsibility, we are ready to face difficulties and challenges to contribute our intelligence, youth and enthusiasm," said the young scientist volunteering to take on the mission.
Mr. Ta Minh Vang, Chairman of CEH, considers seaport digital transformation as the root to optimize logistics costs. "We are a young enterprise, but we are proud to have formed a strong ecosystem of digital technology products and services, serving the comprehensive digital transformation needs of seaports," he said.
This enterprise also volunteered to take on the mission of building a national-scale seaport digital transformation ecosystem, developing technology solutions, applying them to free trade economic zones, and cooperating with universities for practical training.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bui Quang Huy, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, said that the movement will be deployed to Youth Union members nationwide, the vanguard force in innovation and digital transformation.
