More ministries and sectors agree with proposal for 9-day Lunar New Year holiday

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Ministries of Home Affairs, Health and Transport all agreed with the plan to take Tet holiday and some holidays in 2025 proposed by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has just commented on the proposal to take Tet holiday and some holidays in 2025.

Accordingly, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor agreed on a 9-day holiday plan, from January 25, 2025 (December 26, year of Giap Thin) to February 2, 2025 (January 5, year of At Ty), for the holiday schedule of civil servants and public employees on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025.

Regarding the National Day holiday, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also agreed on a plan to have 2 days off, including 1 day immediately before September 2. Thus, civil servants and public employees will have 4 consecutive days off on this occasion, from August 30 to September 2, 2025.

On the occasion of the Victory Day holiday of April 30 and International Labor Day of May 1, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor agreed with the plan of 5 days off, from April 30 to May 4, 2025. According to this plan, the normal working day (May 2, 2025) will be swapped to Saturday, April 26, 2025.

Previously, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Transport also sent official dispatches to give their opinions on the Lunar New Year holiday and some other holidays in 2025. These agencies all agreed with the plan proposed by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
