Thanh Mien district currently has 25 "Zero-waste fields" models with an area of ​​over 1,100 hectares, exceeding the plan by 15 models.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Mien district, from the beginning of the year to December 11, the whole district has built 25 "Zero-waste fields" models with an area of ​​over 1,100 hectares, accounting for 18% of the total rice growing area of ​​the whole district. On average, each model has an area of ​​44 hectares. This is a typical locality of the province in the movement to build the "Zero-waste fields" model.

Lam Son, Ngu Hung, Tan Trao, Le Hong communes... have built many "zero waste fields" models. Thanks to the model, over 80% of plastic waste, bottles, and pesticide packaging are collected and treated according to regulations, helping to reduce environmental pollution. People's awareness is increasingly raised, contributing to the development of green and safe agriculture.

In 2024, Thanh Mien district will start implementing this model, striving to build 10 models with an area of ​​over 300 hectares.

The replication of the "zero-waste field" model aims to realize the breakthrough work of promoting the application of science and technology, promoting clean agricultural production in the direction of organic agriculture with high economic value and mobilizing all resources to ensure environmental sanitation, building a "bright, green, clean, beautiful" landscape of the district by 2024.
