Israeli media reported that the perpetrator was Ahmad Jabareen, 36 years old, an Israeli citizen from the town of Umm al-Fahm.
Israeli police say at least six people were injured in knife attacks at four different locations in the central Israeli town of Hadera.
Police said in a statement that they shot the perpetrator and he is currently injured.
Israeli government spokesman David Mencer said security forces remained on "high alert" following the stabbing attack.
Authorities did not provide information about the perpetrator, but local media reported that the suspect was Ahmad Jabareen, 36, an Israeli citizen from the town of Umm al-Fahm.
The attack comes just over a week after seven people were killed in a shooting and stabbing at a shopping mall in Tel Aviv.
The armed Islamic movement Hamas has claimed responsibility for the attack.
