The story collection "The Kapok Tree Carrying the Sun" by author Nguyen Thu Hang won the encouragement prize of the Children's Literature Creation Campaign.

The Vietnam Writers Association has just announced the awards of the first Children's Literature Creation Campaign for the year 2021-2023. Author Nguyen Thu Hang, a member of the Hai Duong Province Literature and Arts Association, with the story collection "The Cotton Tree Carrying the Sun" is the only author from Hai Duong to win the consolation prize.

The collection of stories “The Kapok Tree Carrying the Sun” by author Nguyen Thu Hang includes 22 short stories. Each story takes readers to the pure, innocent, lovely, and funny world of animals and plants. Each story leads children to peaceful, familiar rural areas. The witty storytelling style, rich use of language, and imagery help each short story leave a unique impression on readers.

The literary creation campaign on children's topics with two genres of prose and poetry will last for 5 years (from the end of 2021 to May 2025), divided into two phases. This is the first award announcement of this campaign, with 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 5 third prizes and 8 consolation prizes.
