The film directors who entered the Vietnamese film industry with the support of CJ are bright young faces in the Vietnamese Film Industry.
Thanks to support from the CJ Cultural Foundation, young Vietnamese director Le Lam Vien was able to fulfill his dream.
Le Lam Vien, 32, expressed his gratitude to CJ during a recent interview with reporters from Vietnam News Agency (VNS) of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) in collaboration with reporters from the Korean news agency Yonhap News Agency to introduce typical cases of cooperation that have brought positive results through multilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Korea in recent times.
Le Lam Vien said he debuted as a film director when he participated in the "CJ Short Film Project" of CJ Cultural Foundation in 2019.
He then won the “New Director” award at the Singapore International Film Festival for his short film"Fix everything"(Fix Anything) was produced by him with the support of 300 million VND from CJ Cultural Foundation.
This award helped him attract attention and quickly emerge as a new director in the Vietnamese film industry.
Since 2018, CJ Cultural Foundation has supported the “Short Film Production Project” in Vietnam as part of its social contribution activities.
The purpose of this project is to search for and nurture young film talents, provide film funding of 300 million VND for each project, and support the introduction of excellent short films to prestigious international film festivals around the world.
Currently, Vien is producing commercial films with the support of V-Pictures, a film investment and production subsidiary of CJ CGV.
He affirmed: "Thanks to CJ's support, it has helped the Vietnamese short film industry develop as it is today."
“One of the weaknesses of Vietnamese cinema is the lack of good scripts. I hope CJ will help nurture professional scriptwriters in the future,” he said.
"It would be great if there were more opportunities for Vietnamese films to be shown in Korea," he added.
Like Le Lam Vien, film directors who entered the Vietnamese film industry with the support of CJ are bright young faces in the Vietnamese Film Industry.
Typical is“A good land”(Blessed Land) - a short film by director Pham Ngoc Lan, selected by CJ as a support recipient in 2018, received the Special Jury Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France.
Or cinematic work"Inside the golden cocoon"(Inside The Yellow Cocoon Shell), a film by director Pham Thien An, won the Caméra d'Or award - the award for the best debut film by a young director at the Cannes Film Festival in May this year.
After establishing a representative office in Vietnam in 1998, CJ operates mainly in the fields of Food, Biology, Transportation and Entertainment.
CJ Group has expanded its business into various fields such as bakery, and now has about 10,000 local employees.
In that context, CJ is carrying out various social contribution activities not only in Southern Vietnam, where the group's main production facilities are located, but also in many different regions of Vietnam.
Mr. Chang Bok Sang, Chairman of CJ Group Vietnam, said that CJ Group always accompanies the Vietnamese Government in social activities.
“Social contribution activities are not only the responsibility of enterprises but also an essential choice and a solid foundation for enterprises to exist and develop sustainably,” he affirmed.
The group's development mindset with the local community and its efforts in doing so have also contributed to creating a foundation for the growth and enhancement of the company's brand value, he added.
In particular, after CJ Group Chairman Lee Jay Hyun announced “Building Vietnam into CJ's third base” in 2012, CJ's local social contribution activities have been diversified and related projects have been accelerated.
Since 2012, CJ has sponsored the Vietnam National Taekwondo Team, and implemented the Education Project for Ethnic Minority Girls in many provinces and cities; Scholarship Program for disadvantaged students in Lam Dong province.
In addition, CJ also opened a baking course in Nghe An, implemented the “New Rural Area” program to build a chili powder raw material area in Ninh Thuan; and supported increasing agricultural productivity through farming training and improving irrigation waterway systems.
South Korea and Vietnam upgraded their “Bilateral Relations” to “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” in December last year, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Economic cooperation between the two countries has made great strides. It can be said that this is the result of the efforts and contributions of Korean enterprises investing in Vietnam as well as local workers, for the common prosperity of the two countries.
