The bomb was discovered at a sewer dredging site in Ky Anh town.

The bomb was found on the afternoon of March 3, underground at a drainage dredging site in Hung Tri ward, Ky Anh town. The bomb weighed more than 200 kg, was 1.5 cm long, and nearly 30 cm in diameter, and was determined to be left over from the war. The tail of the bomb was rusted. The body and head were new, with the serial number clearly visible in many places.

The bomb was located in a residential area, in Tran Phu residential group. In the past two days, to ensure safety, the authorities have sent officers to block off the scene, put up warning signs and set up checkpoints to separate the dangerous area.

The Military Command of Ky Anh town said that engineers brought the bomb to the ground and transported it this morning to a shooting range in Ha Tinh for safe detonation.

During the war years, Ha Tinh was located on the supply route to the southern battlefield, so it had to endure thousands of bombs and mines. When peace was restored, the authorities cleared them, but a few remained.
