The People's Committee of Cao Loc district, Lang Son province has just received the National Monument ranking certificate from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for Dong Dang fortress.
On the evening of February 6, the People's Committee of Cao Loc district, Lang Son province held the opening ceremony of Dong Dang Festival 2025 and announced the decision to rank Dong Dang fortress as a national historical relic.
The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thieu - Chairman of Cao Loc District People's Committee and many local leaders.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thieu and local leaders received the National Monument ranking certificate from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for Dong Dang fortress.
On this occasion, Cao Loc district also opened a walking street with many attractive activities on weekends.
Accordingly, the Dong Dang fortress relic was built by the French in 1940, and is a historical relic. Dong Dang fortress was built in 3 floors, 60m wide, 100m long, with a complex interior design. The highest floor was designed as an observation area. The second floor had enough rooms and loopholes for fighting. The third floor was a place to store military equipment, ammunition, food, meeting rooms, etc.
