Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, was elected by the Provincial Party Executive Committee to hold the position of Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
On the afternoon of February 7, Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee held a conference to elect the position of Secretary of the 16th Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025.
At the conference, the Provincial Party Executive Committee and delegates listened to the Report of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the list of personnel recommended by the Politburo to be elected as Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee. Next, the Conference proceeded to elect the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
As a result, with the absolute vote of confidence of 100% of the delegates present, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee was elected by the Provincial Party Executive Committee to hold the position of Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Mr. Truong's predecessor, Mr. Dang Xuan Phong, was recently assigned by the Politburo to join the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Secretary of the Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong (48 years old) is from Giao Tien commune, Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province. He has a Master's degree in Urban and Construction Management.
Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong used to be Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, concurrently Head of the Urban Construction Project Management Board; Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Pa District; Director of the Department of Transport - Construction of Lao Cai; Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Cai Province.
In 2020, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong held the position of Chairman of Lao Cai People's Committee at the age of 43 and was one of the youngest provincial Chairmen in the country at the time of his appointment.
