He also hinted that Coach Park is the top candidate because Coach Park Hang-seo meets all the criteria set by FAM: “We have to hire a coach that matches the quality of the players we have. The criteria is that the coach must clearly understand the quality of Malaysian players.

He also has to understand our rivals in Southeast Asia and Asia, understand the tournaments we will participate in. There are many candidates and I will shorten the list.”

With the above statement, it can be said that Park Hang-seo is the strongest candidate. He has more than 5 years working with the Vietnamese teams and has met Malaysia many times. Therefore, his knowledge of Southeast Asian football is really abundant. He also meets the requirements of his level and experience in coaching.

Previously, the 67-year-old coach accepted invitations from the Indian Football Federation and the Cambodian Football Federation, but it seems that the Malaysian national team is the most suitable destination for his ambition.

Compared to Petar Segrt, the coach who led the Tajikistan team to success at the 2023 Asian Cup, Coach Park's chances are superior.

But the German coach took the initiative to speak to FAM first. He did not hesitate to openly express his ambition to lead the Malaysian national team.

“I like the Malaysian people very much because they are always friendly. Yes, I have always wanted to try to become a coach in Malaysia.
