Mr. Le Thanh Van was dismissed from the National Assembly.

In mid-July, Mr. Le Thanh Van was prosecuted by Thai Binh Provincial Police and ordered to be temporarily detained to investigate his behavior.taking advantage of position and power to influence others for personal gain,according to Article 358 of the Penal Code. This is a new development in the process of expanding the case of Mr. Luu Binh Nhuong and his accomplices, accused of committing acts ofExtortionandTaking advantage of position and power to influence othersfor profit, occurred in Thai Binh province.

On July 16, the Central Inspection Committee expelled Mr. Le Thanh Van, a standing member of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee and a deputy of the 15th National Assembly, from the Party. Mr. Van was determined to have degraded his political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle, "self-evolved" and "self-transformed"; violated Party regulations and State laws in performing his assigned duties and tasks.

In addition, Mr. Van also committed negative acts, abusing his position and power for personal gain, violating the Law on Anti-Corruption; violating regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example. These violations "caused very serious consequences, negatively affecting the reputation of the party organization and the agency and unit at which he worked".

Mr. Le Thanh Van, 60 years old, from Thanh Hoa province, PhD in Law, Standing Member of the Finance and Budget Committee of the 14th and 15th National Assembly; National Assembly delegate of 3 terms XIII, XIV, XV. He used to work at the Political Department, Brigade 299, Corps I; Department of Delegation Affairs, National Assembly Office; Institute for Legislative Studies under the National Assembly Standing Committee; Standing Member of the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly.

In December 2014, he was mobilized, transferred, and appointed by the Secretariat to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee. A year later, he returned to work at the National Assembly as a Standing Member of the Finance and Budget Committee until now.

Since the beginning of the term (2021) up to now, the National Assembly has dismissed 4 deputies and dismissed 12 deputies. The total number of deputies of the 15th National Assembly is currently 483.
