Are open-top cars subject to penalties?

Whether or not a convertible car participating in traffic will be fined is a matter of concern to many people and below is the information to answer.

Pursuant to Article 5 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP regulating penalties for drivers of cars and similar vehicles violating road traffic rules as follows:

"A fine of 200,000 VND to 400,000 VND shall be imposed on a driver who commits one of the following violations:

- Failure to comply with the commands and instructions of traffic signs and road markings, except for the violations specified in Points a, d, g, h, i, k, Clause 2; Points a, d, dd, e, k, l, o, r, s, Clause 3; Points b, c, d, dd, I, Clause 4; Points a, c, d, dd, e, g, i, Clause 5; Points a, b, Clause 6; Points a, c, Clause 7; Point a, Clause 8 of this Article;

- Changing direction without giving the right of way to: Pedestrians, wheelchairs of the disabled crossing the road at a crosswalk; non-motorized vehicles traveling on the roadway reserved for non-motorized vehicles;

- Changing direction without giving way to: Vehicles going in the opposite direction; pedestrians, wheelchairs of disabled people crossing the street where there are no pedestrian crossings;..."

Thus, according to current traffic laws, there are no regulations on penalties for driving a convertible. Therefore, this case will not be penalized. However, when driving, you should pay attention to opening and closing the sunroof to ensure more safety in bad weather.
