The Baojun E100 super-small, two-seat electric car will be sold in 2025 as a domestically assembled car, with the expected price being the cheapest on the market.
A representative of TMT Motors, a partner of the General Motors - SAIC - Wuling joint venture, said that they plan to distribute the Baojun E100 mini electric car line in Vietnam in 2025, with an expected selling price of under 150 million VND (including battery).
When sold in Vietnam, the E100 will be the cheapest car on the market. The cheapest model currently is the Wuling mini EV at 197 million VND, including battery.
Baojun E100 has a wheelbase of about 1.6 m, two seats, belongs to the microcar segment mainly used in urban areas.
According to the distributor, the E100 version to be sold in Vietnam will be equipped with a lithium-ion battery for a range of about 200 km, fully charged in 5 hours using a household power source. Maximum speed is 100 km/h.
Baojun is a car brand from the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture in China.
The E100, which debuted in 2017, will no longer be sold in its home market starting in 2022, according to Wudi Electric Network. Before its demise, the Baojun E100 was only sold in China.
