Rising water levels on the Cau River caused flooding in many areas in Thai Nguyen City, forcing people to evacuate at night to avoid the flood.
Late on September 8, the water level of Cau River rose, causing flooding in Quang Vinh ward, Thai Nguyen city.According to information from the Thai Nguyen Hydrometeorological Station, the water level at Gia Bay Hydrological Station at 00:00 on September 9 was 2,756cm, 56cm higher than alert level 3. People living on both sides of the Cau River, since the historic flood in 2001 until now, have never had the water level of the Cau River rise as high as it does now.Ben Tuong Bridge on the Dong Tam village side, water flooded right up to the foot of the bridge.People had to try to move their vehicles to the highest point of the bridge to avoid the flood.Cau River water flooded Dong Tam village gate, Dong Bam ward, Thai Nguyen cityMany households were deeply flooded.Authorities evacuate households in dangerous, flooded, isolated areas.At Tien Bo Apartment area, at 5:40 a.m. on September 9, many cars were submerged in water. The rising water level of Cau River caused flooding in the entire area around Tien Bo Apartment; part of the foundation of building A3 was exposed, posing a high risk of insecurity. To ensure the safety of residents, the Apartment Management Board cut off the electricity to the entire building, and together with the city's functional forces, Hoang Van Thu Ward supported the evacuation of 50 households to a safe place.National Highway 3 near Tan Long roundabout was deeply flooded this morning. The meteorological agency forecasts that in the next 24 hours, the flood on Cau River will continue to rise, causing the risk of flash floods and landslides in many localities in Thai Nguyen province such as: Dai Tu, Dinh Hoa, Dong Hy, Phu Binh, Phu Luong, Vo Nhai, Pho Yen City, Song Cong City, Thai Nguyen City.TH (according to VTC News)
