Chi Linh is leading the province in the area of spring vegetables planted with 1,080 hectares. "The wet weather is favorable for vegetable growth. In just about a month, my family will be able to harvest this coriander field. With the current price, each sao of coriander will bring in 3 million VND. Getting 3 million VND a month is also very happy," Mr. Hau shared.Having just finished harvesting winter carrots, farmers in Duc Chinh commune (Cam Giang) took the opportunity to go to the fields to grow spring vegetables such as corn, watermelon... In Hai Duong, Cam Giang is one of the districts that grows a lot of spring vegetables with about 700 hectares.Hai Duong farmers consider the spring crop the second most important crop of the year (after the winter crop). The humid spring weather helps plants grow well. This season, the whole province strives to plant 10,000 hectares of spring vegetables. By March 12, farmers in the province had planted about 7,000 hectares, mainly corn, cabbage, kohlrabi, melons, squash of all kinds, tomatoes and some other spices and leafy vegetables.In some places, Hai Duong farmers have begun to harvest early spring vegetables. After harvesting vegetables, farmers will switch to growing watermelon and cantaloupe. Normally, if the weather is favorable, the crop is good, and the price is good, growing watermelon and cantaloupe can help farmers earn 8 - 12 million VND/sao.
