Ninh Giang leads in the number of child-friendly commune-level units.

According to the assessment and recognition results of child-friendly communes, Hai Duong has a total of 171 communes, wards and towns that meet child-friendly standards, accounting for nearly 73%; while 64 communes, wards and towns have not met the standards, accounting for more than 27%.

The assessment was carried out according to the province's Socio-Economic Development Plan for the 2021-2025 period, taking place at a time when the merger of commune-level administrative units had not yet been carried out.

Of which, Ninh Giang district has the highest rate of child-friendly communes and towns with a total of 19/20 units achieving the standard, accounting for 95%; followed by Hai Duong city, with 21/25 units, accounting for 84%. The lowest in the province is Kim Thanh district, with a total of 9/18 units achieving the standard, accounting for 50%.

In recent times, child care and protection has always received leadership and direction from all levels and sectors, demonstrated through the inclusion of targets and activities on child care and protection in resolutions, directive documents, and annual socio-economic development tasks to strive for implementation.

The remaining 64 communes, wards and towns that do not meet child-friendly standards are all due to zero-point criteria such as child abuse, accidents and injuries.

In Hai Duong, communes, wards and towns recognized as meeting child-friendly standards must meet all 13 criteria specified in Article 2 of Decision No. 06/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister promulgating the Regulations on standards, procedures for assessment and recognition of child-friendly communes, wards and towns, with no criteria receiving 0 points and a total score of 850 points or more.
