The book outlines the alarming reality of child sexual abuse. Worldwide, since 2002, WHO has estimated that up to 150 million girls and 73 million boys have been sexually abused. In Vietnam, according to statistics from the Criminal Police Department, General Department of Police, Ministry of Public Security, from 2014-2017, the country discovered about 5,550 cases of child sexual abuse. In 2018 alone, nearly 1,550 cases were discovered. The consequences of child sexual abuse are heartbreaking, causing children to be physically and mentally injured. Even sadder, studies show that perpetrators of child sexual abuse are often acquaintances. Up to 93% of child sexual abusers are acquaintances, 47% of perpetrators are relatives, family members. Sometimes, the perpetrator is even the biological father or stepfather of the victim...
