The book outlines the alarming reality of child sexual abuse. Worldwide, since 2002, WHO has estimated that up to 150 million girls and 73 million boys have been sexually abused. In Vietnam, according to statistics from the Criminal Police Department, General Department of Police, Ministry of Public Security, from 2014-2017, the country discovered about 5,550 cases of child sexual abuse. In 2018 alone, nearly 1,550 cases were discovered. The consequences of child sexual abuse are heartbreaking, causing children to be physically and mentally injured. Even sadder, studies show that perpetrators of child sexual abuse are often acquaintances. Up to 93% of child sexual abusers are acquaintances, 47% of perpetrators are relatives, family members. Sometimes, the perpetrator is even the biological father or stepfather of the victim...

From that reality, children and parents need to have early and effective preventive measures. Parents need to teach their children the skills to recognize and prevent sexual abuse. The book reveals 10 important things that parents need to teach their children to be safe, such as teaching children about body parts early; which body parts are private; teaching children to know the limits of their own body and others; teaching children that it is okay to tell their parents body secrets; teaching children to escape from scary or uncomfortable situations... The book also introduces the "5-finger" rule, the underwear rule and some other skills for parents who want to teach their children to protect themselves...
