Previously, on February 14, the entire district had basically completed flooding all 3,750 hectares of spring rice cultivation. With the motto "where there is enough water, prepare the land immediately", by February 17, the district had completed preparing the land for nearly 90% of the spring rice cultivation area.
The district People's Committee and communes and towns have proactively developed plans for production and drought prevention. Specifically, they have completed dredging canals and suction tanks; repaired and maintained pumps; prepared spare pumps; pumped water to supply enough water for flooding and storing for early-season irrigation; implemented plans to kill rats and protect plants; planted trees in spring, etc.
In addition, from now until mid-March, the district will focus on harvesting and consuming over 1,000 hectares of winter crops, especially exporting fresh carrots to Korea and Japan. At the same time, up to now, the district has planted 100/700 hectares of spring vegetables, concentrated in Duc Chinh, Cam Van and Dinh Son communes.
