A brace against Thailand tonight helped Nguyen Xuan Son become the Vietnamese player with the most goals in a Southeast Asian championship.
Xuan Son currently has 7 goals, 3 more than the next group including teammate Nguyen Tien Linh, Suphanat Muenta (Thailand) and Shawal Anuar (Singapore). Of which, Anuar has no chance to improve his record because Singapore has been eliminated.
