Cause of fire in Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee headquarters

At noon on January 13, the leaders of Binh Phuoc Provincial Police officially informed about the fire at the provincial People's Committee headquarters (on 6/1 Street, Tan Phu Ward, Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc Province).

According to the provincial police leader, the fire broke out in a small room, so the authorities only isolated the fire area (meeting room A) to handle and fix it.

All other departments and offices in the provincial People's Committee headquarters are still working normally.

According to initial information, at around 11:30 a.m. on January 13, staff at the office of the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province discovered smoke rising from meeting room A (ground floor lobby) of the provincial People's Committee headquarters, so they ran in to check and discovered a fire.

Immediately afterwards, the staff of the Provincial People's Committee office organized an alarm and used on-site equipment to put out the fire, and at the same time called the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police.

About 6 minutes after receiving the report, 5 fire trucks, ladder trucks and 50 officers and soldiers from the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting, Rescue and Emergency Response Police Department, Mobile Police Department, Dong Xoai City Police and a number of professional units of the Provincial Police were mobilized to arrive at the scene.

After 15 minutes, the fire was completely extinguished. The Board of Directors and Binh Phuoc Provincial Police were also present to command the fire fighting, rescue and relief efforts.

According to initial records, the fire broke out at noon, after working hours, so there were only a few people left in the headquarters. Some people escaped from the adjacent corridors after discovering the fire and were not affected.

According to the leader of Binh Phuoc Provincial Police, the fire caused insignificant damage, but because the fire was in a meeting room of about 40 square meters, with many curtains, fabrics, foam, tablecloths and carpets, when it burned, it created black smoke that rose outside, attracting people's attention and making them think it was a big fire.

The fire only damaged items in meeting room A, including tables, chairs, curtains, tablecloths... and did not cause any human casualties.

According to the leader of Binh Phuoc Provincial Police, the initial cause is suspected to be an electrical short circuit. Authorities are continuing to investigate and clarify.
