The truth is that the inside of your windshield is very susceptible to dirt and there is virtually no way to prevent this.
The windshield of a car is the area that helps the driver observe traffic situations ahead. Therefore, no matter how modern a car is, if the windshield is dirty, it will increase the risk of causing unsafety.
On the inside, many people will think that the windshield will not be as dirty as the outside, but in fact, even if the user cleans it regularly, the inside surface of the car's windshield will always be dirty.
This is not a layer of fog caused by the temperature difference between the inside and outside, but by chemicals. Specifically, chemicals created from plastics and synthetics both above and below the dashboard of the car.
Almost everything inside a new car is made of plastic and leather, all of which emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
The problem gets worse when the car is parked outdoors for too long in hot weather and the space inside the car will produce toxic gases if there is no air circulation.
All those volatile chemicals stick to many areas inside the car including the windshield. As a result, the inside of the car's windshield becomes foggy and dirty.
Users can deal with this by using a suitable glass cleaner to remove all the fog when this occurs.
Ammonia-based glass cleaners work best because they clean surfaces without leaving behind streaks. The strong cleaning power of the surfactant and the quick drying time are great benefits of having ammonia in a glass cleaner.
However, the disadvantage of ammonia is that it is highly corrosive and discolors glass over time if used in an inappropriate concentration or dosage. If users are concerned about this, use alcohol or vinegar instead, which also has the same effect.
Spray the entire windshield and wipe with a clean, dry, soft microfiber cloth. Then, wipe the windshield again with another dry cloth, rubbing in a circular motion until the glass is dry.
Because stagnant air and high temperatures both accelerate the buildup of fog on the windshield, leaving the side windows slightly open to allow air to circulate inside will help reduce this condition.
Parking in the shade or indoors can also limit and slow the accumulation of fog on the windshield surface.
Currently, there is no way to completely prevent windshield fogging inside the car windshield. Therefore, the best way is to always have glass cleaner and some clean towels on hand so that you can clean the glass when needed.
