Two million Vietnamese people have accounts on Khan Academy - one of the largest online learning platforms in the world, by 2024, ranking second in the world.

Specifically, the platform recorded more than two million learning accounts created in Vietnam, both by students in urban areas and in areas with difficult socio-economic conditions. The total number of learning minutes in the past year was more than 204 million. These figures helped Vietnam overtake India, rising to second place in terms of users, up one place from last year and behind Brazil.
In addition, 25,000 teachers in more than 5,300 schools were trained to support students in using digital platforms.
"This result reflects a positive change in the approach and innovative thinking of teaching and learning methods in schools," Khan Academy assessed. The organization also predicted that online learning and the application of technology in learning will continue to develop strongly in Vietnam in the coming time.
In the middle of last year, the world's largest online learning platform Coursera, with 162 million users, also recorded a similar trend. The number of Vietnamese people participating in courses on this platform was more than 1.4 million, a four-fold increase compared to before Covid-19. The average age of learners was 29.
Khan Academy is a non-profit organization with nearly 150 million users. The platform offers free learning content in many subjects such as Math, Programming, Science, Artificial Intelligence, SAT and AP test preparation, and many soft skills courses. Khan Academy's philosophy is to help users have a personalized learning path, learn according to their needs and abilities until they become proficient.
In Vietnam, the courses are localized to suit many students, completely free, and implemented by The Vietnam Foundation (VNF).
