Tay Ninh chili salt making becomes national intangible cultural heritage

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just signed a decision to recognize the traditional craft of making chili salt in Tay Ninh province as a national intangible cultural heritage.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests the competent authorities of Tay Ninh province and units related to the above-mentioned national intangible cultural heritage to be responsible for implementing this decision.

With this decision, the Chairman of the People's Committee at all levels where intangible cultural heritage is recognized will carry out state management according to the provisions of the law on cultural heritage.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh province, in 2022, Tay Ninh has 37 establishments registered for the chili salt profession, in places such as: Tay Ninh city, Go Dau district, Trang Bang town, Hoa Thanh town and scattered in Chau Thanh and Ben Cau districts...

Thus, along with the art of Southern amateur music (in Tay Ninh province), the Ky Yen festival at Gia Loc communal house, the Chhay-dam drum dance, the craft of making Trang Bang sun-dried rice paper, the Linh Son Thanh Mau - Ba Den mountain festival, the Quan Lon Tra Vong - Tan Bien festival and the art of preparing vegetarian dishes... the traditional craft of making Tay Ninh chili salt is the 8th cultural heritage of this province to be recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.
