Leaders of the Hai Duong Department of Health requested the education sector to strengthen capacity and raise awareness of climate change for the younger generation at the launching ceremony of "Responding to Climate Change 2024" at Tan Binh Secondary School (Hai Duong City) on the morning of October 7.
Attending the launching ceremony were representatives of the Department of Health, the school's Board of Directors and all students of Tan Binh Secondary School.
At the launching ceremony, the representative of the Department of Health called on the youth union members and students to actively learn, research, and equip themselves with knowledge to change their awareness and behavior to contribute to effectively responding to climate change. Every action, no matter how small, such as changing habits and lifestyles towards saving energy, minimizing the use of devices that increase greenhouse gas emissions, actively using environmentally friendly products, planting trees, limiting the use of plastic waste, etc., all contribute to adapting to climate change.
In particular, the education sector needs to strengthen its capacity and raise awareness of climate change for the younger generation. In particular, it focuses on educating and promoting the staff, teachers and students in schools. The promotion needs to clearly identify key contents such as organizing thematic activities, competitions to learn about climate change, environmental protection, activities in response to World Environment Day on June 5, etc.
At the end of the rally, medical staff and many youth union members of Tan Binh Secondary School joined the parade on several streets of Hai Duong City.
In recent years, the negative impact of humans on the living environment has disrupted the natural order and laws, leading to global climate change. In Vietnam, in the past 10 years, climate change has led to consecutive natural disasters occurring with increasingly severe levels and unpredictable rules such as: global warming, storms, floods, droughts... Most recently, storm No. 3 (Yagi) has left behind severe damage to people and property.
