Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the head of the Wagner private military group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, and the force's military commanders after the mutiny.

The above information was confirmed by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a press conference on July 10 when he shared that "The President invited 35 people to attend the meeting, including Mr. Prigozhin and Wagner military commanders. The meeting took place in the Kremlin on June 29 and lasted nearly three hours."

Although he did not disclose details of the meeting, Mr. Peskov affirmed that President Putin gave an assessment of the Wagner Group's operational contributions to the front line of Russia's special military operation. The two sides also discussed the June 24 event, as well as explanations and proposals from Wagner.

According to Mr. Peskov, the commanders of the Wagner group affirmed that they have always been loyal supporters of President Putin and are ready to continue fighting for Russia.

The Wagner Group launched a major armed uprising on June 24 under the orders of its leader Evgeny Prigozhin. Wagner fighters blockaded the city of Rostov-on-Don, seized control of the headquarters of the Russian army's Southern Military District and sent a convoy to Moscow.

However, the crisis lasted less than 24 hours and Wagner fighters were finally stopped 200km from Moscow when Mr Prigozhin announced that Wagner fighters would return to their field camps after reaching an agreement in talks brokered by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

Under the agreement, Prigozhin will be allowed to leave Russia and go to Belarus, while the criminal case against him will be dropped, and Wagner militants who participated in the rebellion will not be prosecuted. The Russian side also guarantees that Wagner militants will still have the opportunity to sign contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense or other security agencies, return home or move to Belarus.
