The US State Department announced that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit China.
In a statement on its official website on April 20, the ministry said Secretary of State Blinken will meet with senior Chinese officials in Shanghai and Beijing to discuss a range of bilateral, regional and global issues, including the conflict in the Middle East and the conflict in Ukraine.
In addition, the US Secretary of State will also discuss steps being taken to implement the commitments made by US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the bilateral summit in Woodside, California, last November on resuming counter-narcotics cooperation, military-to-military communication, cooperation in artificial intelligence research, and strengthening people-to-people ties.
Mr. Blinken is also expected to reiterate the importance of the United States and China managing competition responsibly, even in areas where the two countries disagree.
