MU stunned fans with the top 10 highest paid players on the team, with surprisingly leading the way are Casemiro, Rashford,...
After finishing 8th in the Premier League last season, MU had a disappointing start to this year's campaign - ranked 14th, losing 2 matches after 3 rounds.
Most recently, Erik ten Hag's team suffered a comprehensive 0-3 defeat to rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford.
The club's new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and his team are in the process of restructuring MU. There is information that they want to sell some veteran players to have more money to buy new players in January as well as next summer.
Recently, The Sun revealed the top 10 highest paid players at MU, leaving fans in shock. Erik ten Hag has one of the most expensive squads in history but still cannot operate effectively.
Specifically, Casemiro leads the list with a huge salary of 375,000 pounds/week, after moving from Real Madrid for a fee of 70 million pounds in 2022, for a 4-year contract.
Bruno Fernandes recently renewed his contract with MU and received the same salary as Casemiro, while Rashford ranked 3rd with a salary of 350,000 pounds/week.
After the disastrous mistake in the MU 0-3 Liverpool match, MU is said to want to push Casemiro to Galatasaray but the Brazilian midfielder is determined to stay at Old Trafford. Rashford is also rumored to have to leave next year, if he does not improve his poor performance.
Mason Mount, who has scored just one goal for United since joining from Chelsea a year ago, is fourth on the list of highest paid players at Old Trafford, earning £250,000 a week. Another player who has been disappointing day after day at United is Antony, who earns £200,000 a week, and is fifth.
The positions from 6th to 10th with the highest salary at MU are De Ligt (195,000 pounds/week), Harry Maguire (190,000 pounds/week), Eriksen (150,000 pounds/week), Luke Shaw (150,000 pounds/week), Lindelof (120,000 pounds/week).
The above list does not include Jason Sancho, who is currently on loan from Manchester United to Chelsea, earning £250,000 a week.
MU fans expressed great surprise at the number of MU stars receiving benefits at Old Trafford, saying that no one deserves the above exorbitant salaries.
“I don't see any MU player worthy of that salary, even Bruno Fernandes is not worthy of £375,000/week,” one person said.
“Looking at these salaries and comparing the quality of the players… it’s really unbelievable,” added another. A third fan said: “The salary figures MU pay to the players are ridiculous…”.
