A shining historical milestone illuminating the future

We are living in days filled with pride in the glorious milestones of the Vietnamese nation's history. It is the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, which gloriously ended the people's, all-out, self-reliant and long-term resistance war against the French colonialists; the 49th anniversary of the Great Victory in the spring of 1975, culminating in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, which successfully ended the resistance war against the US, saved the country, reunified the North and the South, and brought the country back together.

With the Great Victory of Spring 1975, a new era of national history was opened - the era of national independence, unity and socialism. Especially after nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation process, 33 years of implementing the Platform for national construction in the transitional period to socialism, the country has made great strides, achieved remarkable achievements in almost all fields, created new positions and strengths, opened up many potentials and opportunities for development. As our Party has affirmed: Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as today.

Under the leadership of the Party, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Vietnamese people are and will always unite as one, promote the strength of the entire nation, concentrate on realizing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country, striving to become a developed country with a socialist orientation by the middle of the 21st century. The nearest goal is that by 2025, the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification, Vietnam will be a developing country with modern industry, surpassing the low-middle income level.

Along with the whole country, in recent years, Hai Duong has overcome difficulties and challenges, achieving positive results in all areas of social life. Up to now, Hai Duong's economy has continuously had good growth steps. The economic structure has shifted towards increasing the proportion of industry and services. The scale of the economy is increasingly large, currently ranking 11th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide. Since 2017, Hai Duong has balanced its budget. Hai Duong is one of the first 5 provinces in the country to complete the task of building new rural areas. The total product in the province (GRDP) in the period of 2021-2023 increased by an average of 8.58%/year. Hai Duong's economic growth in the first quarter of 2024 reached 9.8%, ranking 6th in the country, and 2nd in the Red River Delta.

The Party Committee, government and people of Hai Duong are joining hands, unanimously, upholding the spirit of solidarity, striving to successfully implement the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress with the goal of striving to become a modern industrial province by 2025; and a modern industrial province by 2030, achieving a number of basic criteria of a centrally-run city.

The brilliant historical milestone of the Great Victory in Spring 1975 - the greatest achievement of the national liberation cause led by our Party and President Ho Chi Minh - will forever be a source of pride, motivation, and belief that illuminates our entire Party, people, and army to continue to firmly step on the path of innovation and build a strong and developed country.
