Messenger error sending photos

Xuan Xanh, an office worker in Da Nang, said that when she shared photos and videos taken from her phone with her acquaintances, Messenger displayed an error message. She tried opening it on her laptop but was also unsuccessful.

On groups, many users also complained about the same situation. Meanwhile, Meta has not given an explanation about the cause of the problem.

On Downdetector, a site that monitors internet service downtime, Messenger outage reports began 16 hours later and spiked within the next hour. 74% reported problems sending messages, 19% reported problems with the app, and 7% reported problems with the website.

The problem is not only happening to Vietnamese users, but also to other regions. Users in the US, UK and Asia are the most affected. A user named Alexandra said she tried clearing the cache, restarting her phone, even deleting the app to redownload it, but she still couldn't send the photo.

Around 9pm, the photo sending error was fixed.

In less than a month, the Messenger application has encountered errors twice. Previously, on June 16, domestic users were also unable to view the content of newly sent messages. In March, Meta's service encountered an error in recalling messages. In April, a series of users had their Facebook and Messenger accounts locked for unknown reasons and it took many days to reopen them.

In Vietnam, this is one of the most popular messaging apps. On the App Store, the app ranks fifth in the popular social network rankings. Messenger has also reached 5 billion downloads on Google Play.

The Messenger outage comes just a day after Meta launched its text chat app Threads. Its interface is a mix of Instagram and Twitter. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said 30 million people signed up for the new app in 24 hours.
