Weightlifter Tran Dinh Thang won a hat-trick of gold medals at the National Club Weightlifting Championship.

Coach Nguyen Thi Thiet's Hai Duong weightlifting team, consisting of 12 athletes, won a total of 5 gold medals and 1 silver medal. Of which, weightlifter Tran Dinh Thang won 3 gold medals in the 102 kg category. Tran Dinh Thang is the 32nd SEA Games champion in the +89 kg category, with a total lift of 359 kg. At the 9th National Sports Festival in 2022, Tran Dinh Thang won 3 gold medals in the 102 kg category, breaking 3 records of the festival.

The remaining two gold medals of the Hai Duong team were won by weightlifter Nguyen Trung Hieu, in the over 109 kg category in the snatch and total. This weightlifter also won a silver medal in the clean and jerk. With this result, the Hai Duong weightlifting team won second place in the men's team category.

The 2023 National Club Weightlifting Championship has over 170 athletes from 25 units and localities, competing for 60 sets of medals in 20 weight categories for men and women.

On the overall rankings, there were 10 teams that did not win gold medals, 2 teams that did not have any medals. With 5 gold medals, Hai Duong team ranked fourth overall, 1 gold medal behind Thanh Hoa team above. Ho Chi Minh City team ranked first and host Bac Ninh team ranked second overall.
