Fooling the elderly

Looking at the photo, she felt both angry and amused. The faces were clearly those of the two old people, but the bodies belonged to someone else. They even fooled the elderly.

Just after work, it was getting dark, Tinh quickly turned into the shop to buy a bowl of porridge to bring home for her parents. Although she married nearby, in the same village, her daughter had not come to visit her for several weeks. Hearing that the porridge was delicious, Tinh bought some for her parents to enjoy.

By now, the elders must have had dinner, the elderly usually eat early, but whatever, Tinh still bought some for them to eat. Thinking so, she took the porridge and quickly rushed home. Before reaching the gate, she heard the two elders scolding each other:

- Lost millions of dollars, right? And this isn't the first time? - the old lady cleared her throat.

Tinh pushed the door open and saw the old man sitting there with a blank face. The old woman saw her daughter coming back and was angry because she was sorry for the money but didn't ask a single question. Seeing the tense situation, Tinh spoke up:

- What happened, teacher? Why did you lose money?

As if she had somewhere to vent, the old lady let out a string of words:

- I asked the teacher, I told you not to take pictures, doesn't the picture look any different from a human puppet? The children have told me so many times but they still like to take pictures.

Seeing the new photo hanging in the photo collection of her parents, Tinh immediately understood the situation. Looking at the photo, she was both angry and amused. The faces were clearly those of her parents, but the bodies belonged to someone else. This trick was too familiar, her parents had taken about 3-4 photos like this, hanging them all over the house.

- You have taken this many times, why do you keep taking it? - Tinh complained.

- I didn't have the intention to take pictures. We were having a meeting at the village cultural house when the photography team came in. I heard the advice and thought it was good so I took the picture, the old man explained.

- The problem is that it looks ugly, sir! Maybe you don't know about digital technology so you don't know how ugly it is. I think the photo editing technique is crude, it looks so obvious, how can it be as beautiful as the real thing...

- I knew that, but after the meeting, a group of photographers came. The village leaders said that anyone who wanted to take pictures could take pictures, so everyone took pictures.

- It's mob mentality, teacher! If it continues like this, we'll die. Next time you want to take pictures, tell your children to take you to a proper store. If you take pictures like this, who knows what will happen.

Not seeing the teacher react, Tinh added:

- But this time I have to go see the village chief. People come to lobby, they need the consent of the village leader to do it. No unit can just come into the village and do that. Even conferences, sales, medicine sales, if they don't have the consent of the village leader, how can they come in and sell to the people? The media has warned about it, but you don't update it, or turn a blind eye and let the people get fooled?

Hearing his daughter speak, the teacher said regretfully:

- You should report it right away, because there are many people in the village taking pictures. Taking pictures costs millions of dong, not a small amount...

Hearing the teacher understand the story, Tinh said:

- Okay, now eat your porridge while it's hot. After you're done, I'll go to the village chief's house. And from now on, don't let yourself be fooled by people like that.
