It is unacceptable that an English center in Hai Duong City uses the name of schools to invite students to participate in programs that are completely free.
Recently, I received several phone calls from someone claiming to be an employee of an English center in Hai Duong City. This person said that my child was having 2 free English review sessions from the previous school year, so he invited me to take my child there. To gain trust, this person also said that this was a review program according to the school's plan and that many of my child's classmates had already registered. He asked me to accept a friend request via Zalo to send him more research materials about the center, the curriculum, etc.
After bringing this matter to my child’s parent group, I found that many other parents had received similar calls. I asked the homeroom teacher and was told that the school did not have this policy and did not cooperate with any English center to prepare students.
It can be seen that taking advantage of the name of schools to announce a program, even if it is completely free, is not allowed.
If this happens, parents need to check with the school to verify, do not arbitrarily accept information from strangers via social networks. Schools should improve confidentiality to avoid disclosure of parents' information. The Department of Education and Training needs to direct inspection and correction of advertising by English centers to avoid affecting the reputation of schools.
