These are the two largest festivals in Lang Son province, part of a series of activities celebrating the Party and the New Year of the Dragon 2024.
On the morning of March 2, the Organizing Committee of Vinh Trai and Hoang Van Thu wards, Lang Son city (Lang Son province) solemnly held the opening ceremony of Ky Cung Temple Festival and Ta Phu - Ky Lua Temple Festival. These are the two largest festivals in the province, part of a series of activities to celebrate the Party and the New Year of the Dragon 2024.
Attending the opening ceremony at the two temples were comrades: Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, departments, branches, and organizations; leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee; a large number of people and tourists from all over.
At Ky Cung temple, there was also the participation of a delegation from Bang Tuong town, Guangxi (China); delegations from several neighboring provinces.
At the two opening ceremonies, delegates reviewed the history of the two relics and festivals, and enjoyed the unique lion and dragon dances, performances with traditional folk songs such as Then, Sli, Luon, along with songs and dances praising the beautiful landscapes and people of Lang, the love for the homeland, and praying for a peaceful and happy new year. After the opening ceremony, delegates offered incense at the two temples.
During the opening ceremony of the Ta Phu - Ky Lua Temple Festival, the leaders of the City Fatherland Front Committee read an open letter calling for the construction, renovation and restoration of the historical monument of the Ta Phu stele and temple. The city leaders presented letters of thanks to 13 businesses, organizations and philanthropists who supported the construction and restoration of the historical monument of the Ta Phu stele and temple.
The festival takes place for 6 days from January 22 to 27, with many unique activities such as: sacrificial rituals, palanquin processions, cannon-capturing, folk games imbued with the unique culture of the ethnic groups in Lang Son in the early days of spring.
The two festivals are imbued with the traditional culture of the ethnic groups in Lang Son, expressing gratitude and remembrance of the great contributions of two mandarins who contributed to the construction and development of the country and Lang Son in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, including: Left Admiral Han Quan Cong Than Cong Tai (worshiped at Ta Phu Temple - Ky Lua) and Quan Lon Tuan Tranh (worshiped at Ky Cung Temple). At the same time, they express the spirit of solidarity, attachment, and wish for a year of favorable weather, prosperity, luck, happiness and peace for every family.
At exactly 12 noon, the palanquin procession from Ky Cung Temple brought the great Mandarin Tuan Tranh to the festival, thanking the Left Admiral Han Quan Cong Than Cong Tai at Ta Phu Temple - Ky Lua. The procession passed through the streets in the city such as: 17/10, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Nguyen Du, Phai Ve, Ba Trieu, Le Loi, Bac Son...
