The model of 'learning family' in Hai Duong is increasingly spreading, contributing to promoting the movement of encouraging learning and talent, building a learning society from the grassroots.
It has become a tradition that on the eve of the new school year, descendants of the Tran Van family in Chi Minh ward (Chi Linh city) gather at the family temple to participate in activities to encourage learning and talent.
Mr. Tran Van Khai, Head of the Tran Van clan, said that since 2013, the clan's Education Promotion Fund has officially started operating systematically and professionally. The clan's Education Promotion Board has established operating regulations, specifically stating the targets to strive for each year from developing members, building the fund to regulating forms of rewards, then deploying them to each family.
Recognizing the important role of the Education Promotion Fund in maintaining and developing the education promotion movement in the clan, the Education Promotion Board has actively mobilized many resources. In addition to regular contributions from clan members, the fund is also supplemented by the merit of the clan on Tet holiday, descendants working far from home or abroad. The fund is regularly maintained at about 50 million VND, annually allocating about 15 million VND to reward descendants.
To encourage children to study actively, in addition to propaganda and mobilizing families to pay attention to tutoring and guidance, the family also sets an example of studious and successful families. In particular, the family pays attention to rewarding on the occasion of the new school year, paying attention to good students.
The Tran Van family is a typical family in promoting learning and talent among more than 500 families promoting learning in Chi Linh City and is also a typical example in the province. For many consecutive years, the family has been awarded by the Association for Promoting Learning at all levels.
To date, the province has nearly 8,800 clans that have established Learning Promotion Boards, an increase of nearly 1,000 clans promoting learning compared to 2020. Of which, 83.2% of clans have achieved the title of learning clan.
The clans have focused on mobilizing funds from contributions from members and support and additional sponsorship from descendants in the clan, contributing to mobilizing large resources for education and talent promotion work in localities.
Not only students, the Family Learning Promotion Board also encourages adults to actively study in many forms such as studying through books, newspapers, radio, internet, and classes organized by the Community Learning Center. Encourage families to help and support each other in life, economic development; build a learning family with building a cultural family, a cultural residential area... From the interest in promoting learning promotion activities in the families, people have clearly realized that the movement to promote learning and talent is no longer the private matter of each family and family but has truly become a common matter of the community.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nhang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education, said that the Association for the Promotion of Education at all levels in the province always considers the construction of the "learning clan" model as one of the key annual contents. From there, the associations at all levels focus on deploying the content and criteria of the learning clan to members and organizing clans to register for this title. The propaganda work emphasizes the meaning, necessity, and importance of learning in general and the construction of learning clans in particular.
The association levels have closely followed and promptly resolved difficulties and obstacles in the perception and working methods of the clans. At the same time, they have done a good job of evaluating and recognizing the title of learning clans and promptly commending and rewarding typical learning clans.
“In order for the movement to encourage learning and talent in clans to spread further, the associations at all levels will continue to stay close to the grassroots; regularly propagate, raise awareness, and mobilize people to actively build a sense of learning within each family and clan. Propagate and guide clans that do not have a convention to build a convention to encourage learning. Clans diversify the forms of education on the tradition of studiousness so that their descendants can strive to improve. There are many rich forms to build a stable and sustainable Fund for Encouragement of Learning,” said Mr. Nhang.
