For the nation to prosper and develop, every Vietnamese person needs to be a flower that does good deeds and is full of patriotism.
Every August, on Independence Day, my heart flutters thinking about peace and the lasting values that have made Vietnam a beautiful country today. In my emotional turmoil, my heart sinks deeper into thinking about the origins of the nation, remembering the merits of our ancestors who fought and sacrificed to protect the integrity of our country's territory and borders and to achieve the peace we have today.
Out there, there must be many young people who think like me, young people who have the advantage of being fully educated, inheriting a peaceful, prosperous life, developed technology and science. Many have overcome difficulties, contributing to almost all economic, cultural and social fields...
The 4.0 industrial revolution brings new opportunities and challenges to each person. Each person strives to improve themselves in many fields, especially mastering technology, science, being good at foreign languages, understanding the world... to have more global citizens - citizens who master smart cities, are the elements that create smart societies.
August is a clear month. August reminds us of the season of ripe fruit. To have a "fragrant season", we must go through a season of beautiful flowers. Just as to have the prosperity of a nation, we need people who do good deeds, each flower of good people always turns towards the Fatherland, weaving culture and patriotic traditions. That is also a precious asset of our nation.
With patriotism, every person and element of the country will join hands for the cause of building and protecting the country. And wonderfully, through each historical period, patriotism is always nurtured, cultivated, creating a gathering value, thereby creating the lasting vitality of the Vietnamese people.
Over the years, each of us has seen the presence of patriotism and each person has their own way of expressing it, their own practical actions. All are shown in programs to join hands for the poor, give gifts, build houses of gratitude for meritorious families, and lonely elderly people. Every year, many volunteer groups have gone to the highlands, remote areas, and ethnic minorities to share, give gifts, and warm the disadvantaged.
August evokes many fond memories, many journeys along the country's long distances. I set out again, to the border areas, to visit revolutionary relics, studious villages... to enrich my life and knowledge. To meet again the young people, the people with their own aspirations, their own reason for living, actively working, producing, creating wealth for society, enriching themselves and their families.
The desire to contribute of the youth is the potential for the development of the nation. That desire has the power to move, spread and affirm the bravery of youth. Let us reflect on the spirit of contribution in the poem “A Spring Song” that poet To Huu once shared:“If loh bird, what?frogah/ Then the birdpassheadfrogaphgreen pass/ Reason nborrow without payingshe/live loh, whereI admit itme".
