Kylian Mbappe was "cheated" of more than 2 trillion VND in salary by PSG?

PSG have decided not to pay the €80 million salary after Kylian Mbappe officially joined Real Madrid on Monday. According to the newspaperL'Equipe, losing their most valuable star for free was the primary reason why president Nasser al-Khelaifi withheld tens of millions of Euros from Mbappe's salary.

According to reports, the Parc de Princes team did not pay the April and May salaries and February bonuses to the 25-year-old striker. The 80 million Euros that PSG is holding for Mbappe is exactly the same as the loyalty fee France paid for this player 2 years ago.

In 2022, Mbappe committed his future to PSG until 2024 and included a 1-year self-activation clause (only Mbappe can activate it).

In the summer of 2023, the French striker informed the PSG board that he would not extend his contract for another year at the end of the 2023/24 season. This decision by the French captain immediately isolated him at PSG.

Mbappe was left out of the summer tour of Japan and South Korea. When his teammates returned to France, Mbappe was only allowed to train with a group of players who were almost certain to leave the club. It was not until the second round of Ligue 1 that Mbappe was returned to Luis Enrique's squad.

In February 2024, Nasser al-Khelaifi paid the French striker the €80 million loyalty bonus he had promised in 2022, in an attempt to keep Mbappe. In the end, Mbappe still joined Real Madrid despite receiving the bonus from the Qatari president.

This caused PSG's board of directors to not pay Mbappe's salary of 80 million Euros from the beginning of 2024. It is expected that Mbappe will also lose his salary for June - Mbappe's last month in his contract - in France.

Kylian Mbappe is training with the national team to prepare for Euro 2024. Immediately after the tournament, Mbappe will return to Madrid to train with Carlo Ancelotti's team.

At Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe has committed his future until 2029. Los Blancos also added a huge contract termination fee - 1 billion Euros - if any team looks at the 25-year-old superstar before the summer of 2029.
