Kim Thanh speeds up to bring key projects to the finish line

The East-West axis road project of Kim Thanh district, phase 1, started construction at the end of July 2022. The project is over 3.68 km long, starting from the National Highway 5 interchange in Kim Xuyen commune to Ngu Phuc roundabout, with a total investment of 232.47 billion VND. This is one of the key projects of Kim Thanh district in the period of 2020 - 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh, Head of the Kim Thanh District Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that although phase 1 of the route is short, it is very important, creating a premise for the province to implement the National Highway 5 Interchange Construction Project (expected to start construction in 2024). These projects, once completed, will form a connecting axis between National Highway 18 - National Highway 5 - Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway. Currently, the project has completed about 70% of the work volume, expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.

The project to renovate and adjust traffic organization at the intersection of km15 + 835 of National Highway 17B with 20/9 Street in Phu Thai town is also being completed. The project not only solves traffic congestion and reduces traffic accidents at the intersection of National Highway 17B with 20/9 Street in Phu Thai town, but also connects with the project to handle black spots of traffic accidents at the intersection of km15 + 500 of National Highway 17 with National Highway 5 in Phuc Thanh commune, creating a synchronous and modern traffic system. According to the investor, this project is delayed due to land clearance problems. However, with the active participation of all levels and sectors, and the close direction of local leaders, in early January 2024, the last two households whose land was recovered to implement the project agreed to hand over the land. The project is expected to be completed in time for the Lunar New Year 2024.

In the 2020-2025 term, Kim Thanh district has developed 12 projects and 5 key works. In order for the works and projects to be completed on time and ahead of schedule, the district has focused all resources, promoted, mobilized, created consensus, and joined hands to support from all walks of life. For works and projects requiring large funding sources, the district continues to effectively exploit revenue from land use rights auctions in planned residential areas, and continues to plan to create resources. The district also closely coordinates with sectors; directs communes and towns to drastically implement many solutions to clear the ground and speed up the construction progress of traffic works... Up to now, 3/5 works have been completed and put into use, 2 works are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.

In 2023, the total disbursed public investment capital of the district will reach over 351 billion VND, exceeding 172 billion VND.%plan, equivalent to 2022. Of which, the district level disbursed nearly 276 billion VND, exceeding 158.1%, up 11%. The commune level disbursed nearly 76 billion VND, exceeding 226.5%. This is the second consecutive year that Kim Thanh district has had a high rate of public investment disbursement and is one of the localities with a high rate of public investment disbursement in the province.

The above results were achieved because from the beginning of 2023, Kim Thanh has focused maximum resources on important projects serving the development of the district and the region. The district has established disbursement working groups headed by Vice Chairmen of the District People's Committee, strengthened inspection, removed difficulties and obstacles for localities and investors; advised the district leaders.
