Kim Sae Ron and 5 artists banned from Korean TV stations

For causing scandals that violated the law and ethics, 6 Korean artists including Kim Sae Ron, Ha Jung Woo, Kwak Do Won... were blacklisted by KBS.

On December 21, Nate reported that KBS – one of the three major stations owned by the Korean government – ​​ordered a ban on artists such as Ha Jung Woo, Don Spike, BI (former member of iKON), Kim Sae Ron, Kwak Do Won and Shin Hye Sung. They are restricted from appearing on any KBS programs because of causing serious scandals.

According to Nate, there are 3 artists banned from KBS for drunk driving, resisting the police and intending to flee after causing a traffic accident: Kim Sae Ron, Kwak Do Won and Shin Hye Sung. These stars are all prosecuted by the authorities for violating the Road Traffic Law.

Meanwhile, Don Spike, Ha Jung Woo and BI were banned from broadcasting due to their previous convictions for using illegal substances. On December 20, male singer Don Spike was sentenced to 5 years in prison for using drugs 14 times, possessing and soliciting others to use addictive substances.

Actor Ha Jung Woo was fined25,000 USDfor using propofol in September. While former idol BI received a 4-year suspended sentence and paid a fine.1,300 USD, to participate in 80 hours of community service and 40 hours of drug courses for using the hallucinogen LSD in 2021.

According to Nate, this is not the first time KBS has banned celebrities. This list is updated every year, depending on the severity of the scandal, the artist will be banned temporarily or permanently.
