Thanh Hoa City Police have initiated a criminal case and prosecuted Ms. Vu Thi Thuy Ha, Principal of Dong Tho Primary School, for accepting bribes related to the case of reducing boarding school meal money for students.
Information from the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City said that the Investigation Police Agency, City Police has just decided to prosecute Ms. Vu Thi Thuy Ha, Principal of Dong Tho Primary School, for the crime of accepting bribes.
In early February 2024, Thanh Hoa City People's Committee received a petition from the parents of Dong Tho Primary School, accusing Ms. Ha of embezzling money from boarding students and collecting incorrect lunch money from teachers at the school.
In addition to the complaint, the parents also attached as evidence a recording of a conversation between Ms. Ha and the unit providing meals for the school, regarding the reduction of students' meals.
After receiving the petition, Thanh Hoa City People's Committee transferred it to the City Police Investigation Agency for investigation.
On June 27, 2024, Thanh Hoa City Police decided to initiate a case to investigate the incident.
Recently, on February 10, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Hoa City Police issued a decision to prosecute Ms. Vu Thi Thuy Ha for accepting bribes, and at the same time, decided to prosecute Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc for giving bribes.
On February 27, Mr. Le Trong Thu, Chairman of Thanh Hoa City People's Committee, decided to temporarily suspend Ms. Ha from work.
The suspension period is calculated according to the time of prosecution, indictment, and detention (including extension, if any) as prescribed by law to serve the investigation.
