The project to build a traffic route connecting National Highway 17B with Dinh Bridge connecting Kinh Mon town and Thuy Nguyen city (Hai Phong city) is expected to start construction before July.
This project is one of two traffic projects of Hai Duong connecting with Hai Phong city in the period of 2024 - 2026.
According to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project is in the design phase. The route is 3.1 km long, with a total investment of VND 248 billion from the provincial budget in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025.
The starting point of the route intersects with National Highway 17B at km11+700 in Long Xuyen Ward (Kinh Mon), the end point connects with Dinh Bridge approach road in Thai Thinh Ward (Kinh Mon). The scale of the route meets the standards of main streets, the roadbed is 16 m wide, of which the road surface is 15 m, the rest is dirt shoulder. The design speed is 50 km/h. The project will synchronously construct intersection items, drainage system, lighting, traffic signals and road boundary markers according to regulations. Implementation time is in 2024-2025.
The investment in this route aims to gradually complete the regional traffic system according to the plan, reduce traffic congestion and risks of traffic safety, and at the same time expand the urban development space of Kinh Mon town, promoting the socio-economic development of the locality and Hai Duong province.
Previously, in 2021, Dinh Bridge connecting Kinh Mon with Thuy Nguyen was put into operation, contributing to connecting national highways 37, 10, provincial roads 389B, 352 and routes in the area. The project creates important regional connections, facilitating trade for people in Kinh Mon town, Kim Thanh and Nam Sach districts (Hai Duong), Dong Trieu city (Quang Ninh) and neighboring areas, especially with the new Political - Administrative Center of Hai Phong city in the new urban area of Bac Song Cam.
