On the evening of August 2, the opening ceremony of the 8th International Festival of Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts - Binh Dinh 2023 took place at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, Quy Nhon City.

Thousands of martial arts masters, coaches, fighters and students from countries and territories around the world attended.
At the Festival, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang emphasized that, initiated by Binh Dinh province in 2006, the Festival is an event of great significance to honor the cultural quintessence of Vietnamese martial arts; a place for martial artists from all over the world to exchange, learn, and introduce the characteristics and quintessence of their schools. From there, everyone joins hands and contributes to preserving and promoting the quintessence of Vietnamese traditional martial arts in general and Binh Dinh traditional martial arts in particular.
“Through cultural, sports and tourism activities integrated into this Festival, domestic people and international friends will understand more about the land and people of Binh Dinh with the spirit of martial arts, humanity and tolerance; thereby, contributing to promoting tourism development, becoming a key economic sector”, the Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee emphasized.

According to the Organizing Committee, over 17 years with 7 editions, the Festival has attracted martial artists, coaches, martial artists, and students from over 30 countries and territories. The spirit of international, national, and ethnic solidarity is clearly demonstrated through the increasing number of martial artists, students, and international tourists coming to Binh Dinh during the Festival.
At the Festival, the audience enjoyed an art program with the theme "Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts - Aspiration to Reach Far", consisting of 3 parts: Echoes of Vietnamese Spirit; Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts - Convergence and Shine; Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts - Aspiration to Reach Far with eye-catching performances by martial arts masters, martial arts students at home and abroad, famous singers, artisans and artists of Binh Dinh province.

Within the framework of the Festival, many activities were organized: Offering incense and flowers at Kinh Thien Pagoda and Quang Trung Museum, Tay Son district; exchanges, performances combined with visits to martial arts schools, historical and cultural relics and tourist attractions in the province; photo exhibitions on the activities of martial arts schools and sects in the country and the world; seminars discussing solutions to promote the development of Vietnamese traditional martial arts by 2030...
The festival lasts until August 5.
