On the morning of May 8 (April 1 of the lunar calendar), the opening ceremony of the traditional festival of Phuong Quat national relic, Lac Long commune (Kinh Mon) took place.
Phuong Quat Communal House worships the village's tutelary deity Tran Thuy Hong, a female general of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan. During the second resistance war against the Yuan-Mongol army (in 1285), after winning the battle, female general Tran Thuy Hong, her older brother and younger brother returned to their hometown to hold a banquet to celebrate the victory at the banyan tree of Phuong Quat village.
During the third resistance war against the Yuan-Mongol (1287-1288), all three brothers were sent to fight at Bach Dang River (Quang Ninh). During the battle, female general Tran Thuy Hong was injured, retreated to Lac Long commune and died there.
The locals celebrate the 1st of the 4th lunar month every year as the death anniversary of female general Tran Thuy Hong and her brothers. This is also the day of the village festival. In addition to traditional ceremonies, the locality also organizes many folk games, cultural and sports activities...
Phuong Quat Communal House was ranked as a national monument by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in 2007.
